A week ago, the primary set the stage for changes ahead for some local school boards.

In York Suburban, a mix of challengers and incumbents, as well as one former board member, will fight for board seats in November.

For Dover Area School Board, challengers took three out of four nominations (both Republican and Democrat).

For Central York School Board, three incumbents will be on the ballot in the fall, joined by one newcomer.

And in York City, the ballot’s shaping up to be pretty complicated, thanks to some recent board member resignations.

York City was among a few districts that had more seats up for election than candidates in the primary. Of course, there’s still time for someone to run as an unaffiliated or nonmajor party candidate.

Do you keep up with happenings on your local school board?  What do you look for in a board member?
